Whether a pet becomes your favorite family member or your biggest headache depends on your personality—and theirs. Just like humans, animals come with a wide range of traits. Some are chill, others quirky, stubborn, or downright high-maintenance. You never really know what you’re in for until you spend time together.
Now, you’d think figuring out the personality of a potential friend or partner (you know, another human) would be straightforward… but nope! It’s tricky enough with someone who speaks your language. So imagine trying to read the vibes of a creature that communicates in tail wags, meows, or mysterious stares.
That said, not including genetic abnormalities, there’s no such thing as the best or worst pet.
So, at my age, the ideal pet—with a cuddly personality—would be the Great Pyrenees. They’re both protective and gentle, especially with children and other animals.
